Popular profile / For Local

There a few things that can make your profile more popular. You can improve your chances by having an informative profile and offering a visit to some authentic sights; adding some high-quality photos, etc. You can also share your profile on social media (we have share buttons) and spread the word about your Findalocal profile. Lastly, you can be more proactive and see the travellers who are planning to come to your city and send them offers for their visit. This feature is called Tours.

Leave review / For Local

First of all you need to complete the tour. Then receive an email with a link to rate the previous tour. Or simply find the confirmation section "Tours" and press "Past", where you can find information about the tour with visitor or local and then you will be able to write a review.

If you want to receive reviews you need to receive bookings or send Findalocal offers and complete tours.

Hourly rate / For Local

Regarding the hourly rate, every local decides individually, the majority of locals base their decision on availability, education, and what activities they can offer.

To set an hourly rate go to your profile settings and click on the section that says Hourly Rate. As for commission, we don’t take any percentage from your tours. Usually locals get paid in cash or via bank transfer, typically on the day of the tour.

On Findalocal visitors are the ones who initiate the first contact and not the other way around. However, our feature called Tours allows you to see travellers, who are currently in or are planning on visiting your city. Then you have a membership you can send them offers with your suggestions for their visit; however, only if a traveller is interested in your offer, it will turn into a booking request.

If you want to choose a particular local and contact him or her directly to arrange a city tour, then you have to purchase membership. However, we have the feature called 'Tours', where you can create a trip for your next destination, and then you will receive offers from locals with suggestions for your visit for free. The difference is that when using ‘Tours’, you will only be able to choose from the offers you receive.

We cover all the major cities, however some locations are simply less popular than others and sometimes the locals are not very active. For future bookings, please have in mind that you can create a trip to the next destination you're heading to and receive offers from locals which are available during the time of your stay. This way you won't have to purchase the membership and use the platform free of charge.

Payment / Visitor

Currently the only payment option available is paying in cash or via bank transfer on the day of the tour. The extra expenses are not included in Local hourly fee, and normally they should be covered by the visitor. However, that depends on the agreement between the two of you. Please discuss everything clearly before the trip and agree to pay the agreed amount, in this case in euros. Discuss all the questions you have with the guide before the trip.
